Sheath Cancer (Vaginal Carcinoma)

The sheath cancer, a rare form cancer with women, is an illness, with which malicious cancer cells in the fabric of the sheath are found. The sheath connects the mother mouth and the Vulva. Malicious changes of the sheath develop usually, because other cancer conditions of the abdomen spread to the organ.
The very most Vaginal carcinoma develops from changes of the highest Mucosal layer (disk epithelium carcinomas). The cancer from gland fabric (adenocarcinoma) develops more rarely.
Therefore one differentiates cancer with the sheath cancer between shed cell (squamous) and the adenocarcinoma. The shed cell cancer is found frequently with women at the age between sixty and eighty years, the adenocarcinoma more frequent with women at the age between twelve and thirty years. Young women, whose mothers were treated during the pregnancy with the medicine, have higher risk to get a sheath cancer. Within the range of the sheath also a black skin cancer Melanome can occur.
Among the symptoms bleedings or discharge do not rank with the period to explain are, difficult or painful urination, pain during the coitus or in the basin area. Women can get also after a hysterectomy (distance of the uterus) sheath cancer.
In order to clarify, whether it concerns cancer, the physician becomes a set of tests would drive through. It normally begins with an internal investigation of the basin. The physician gropes for knots and makes a reduction. One can feel here an easy printing feeling, in all rule however no pain.
If non-normal cells are found, it can be necessary that the physician must take a small fabric sample (biopsy) out of the sheath, in order to examine it microscopically on cancer cells. The physician will not however only limit the investigations to the sheath, but will examine all organs the basin, in order to see, where the cancer has its origin. X-ray examinations of the torso inform about whether the cancer into the lungs spread.
The chance on healing and the choice of the treatment are dependent on the stage cancer whether it is found only in the sheath as well as or already on other ranges spread to the general state of health of the female patient. Sheath cancer is treated predominantly by operational removal of the tumor, radiotherapy, whereby high-dose X-ray or other high-energy jets are used for killing the cancer cells or chemotherapy. Here medicines are used for killing the cancer cells.
