Nail Care – Nail Polish and Art Nails

Quality-examined nail care products and – lacquers contained often maintaining proteins, those the nail protect and are generally not harmful. Some nail polish contain however substances (e.g. synthetic resins), which can release allergies.
Skin changes, skin irritations or eczeme in the face are caused according to experts to 80% by nail polish. This because one frequently with the fingers touches the cheeks or lids.
Nail mushroom by nail polish or art nails
nail polish and art nails can promote the emergence of nail mushroom (Onychomykose). Humans, who are particularly susceptible to mushroom infections of the nails, should do therefore without the cosmetic decoration of their foot and fingernails. Discolorations and deformations should not be covered with color. One should let the cause clarify first with the skin physician (dermatologist).
Humidity is a factor, which promotes mushroom growth. With damp, soggy nails it has the mushroom easily to penetrate into the nail. This climate can result also from artificial fingernails. The artificial nails are put often so closely with a responsible substance on the natural nail that no sufficient air interchange can take place.
Mushroom-knit nails may be decorated under no circumstances with lacquer. There is however medical nail polish, which has a antifungal effect (mushroom-fighting).
Over a health endangerment of the pregnant women or the fetus by the use of nail polish there are neither appreciative scientific investigations nor give it to report over arisen disease symptoms in connection with the use of nail polish.
Caution with nail polish removers: They often contain substances such as acetone or alcohol, which attack the nails and from them humidity withdraw. Therefore one should wash the hands after the nail lacquer removing and rub in a hand cream directly into the nail bed.
