Studies showed already in former times the fact that the testosterone therapy – combines with a hormone therapy – improves Libido problems of the women after the change years.
In the current study 814 women participated after the change years with Libido problems. Women, who were treated with estrogen, could not participate.
Participant inside either daily a plaster with 150 μg Testosterone, 300 μg Testosterone received or with an illusory medicine (Placebo). The effect was raised after 24 weeks, after one year and with a sub-group after two years.
It was shown that the sexual satisfaction increased clearly with 300 μg Testosterone opposite the Placebo; between the lower dose of 150 μg and Placebo could be recognized practically no difference. The sexual demand under both doses of testosterone increased nevertheless. Stress moments in connection with Sex felt the women under Testosterone clearly more rarely than under Placebo.
Side effects: 30% of the women deplored inadvertent body hair stature under Testosterone; under Placebo there was 23,1%. In the following two-year observation time four women, who had gotten a half year Testosterone, developed cancer of the breast, whereby a connection with the Testosterone application with two women was very improbable. In the Placebo group was there no cancer of the breast.
