Obesity: Saturated Fatty Acids To Provoke The Immune
November 4th 2009 -
Saturated fatty acids that circulate in the body of obese people increased to bring the immune system into a rage. It responds to the unhealthy fats with mild but chronic inflammatory reactions. This would explain why obesity increases the risk for diabetes type 2.

A key role in this process is the role of the receptor TLR4, which sits on the surface of certain macrophages. It is used to detect certain molecules that sit in the membranes of bacteria. Encountered by the immune cell to this specific Liposaccharide, it triggers an inflammatory reaction.
Now it has been found that the fatty acids made Liposaccharides waste products confusingly similar to see – and provoke the immune system similar reactions. Mice that lacked the receptor TLR1 were indeed fat when they were fattened. “Your metabolism but still looked pretty normal,” says study leader Jerrold Olefsky.
A drug that blocked Trl1 would not bring true that thickness will be thin, but it could possibly stop the health consequences of obesity.
