Protection Against Cervical Cancer by HPV Vaccination

A vaccine against Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) protects against the two most frequent causes of cervical cancer, HPV 16 and HPV 18. These two viruses are responsible for about 70 percent of all cervical cancers. The average age of women with cervical cancer precursor is 35 years.
