Natural dentistry has now becoming popular since there has been an increase in the awareness about the effects of toxins that the conventional dentistry plants in our bodies amonst liverpool dentists. Health experts have always suggested regular visits to the dentist for the maintenance of their oral health and dental implants. But the present conventional dentistry can add toxins to the human body. With increase in awareness, and also the growth in the market for natural dentistry now there have been many theories and practices that avoid using any such harmful substances. A holistic approach is followed that says that the body is one unit and anything that affects one part also affects the other parts as well. To prevent bad oral health, you can use a waterpik oral irrigator system in place of flossing which can protect you from tooth decay and gum diseases. Natural dentistry is a mixture of scientifically proven holistic approach. This dentistry is not only good for you and your body but also for everyone around you as well.

There have been many serious discussions about the usage of mercury and fluoride toxicity and now people are switching to the natural and holistic approach rather than the traditional dentistry. In the past, amalgam fillings that have equal parts of silver and mercury have been commonly used. But lately these have developed a bad reputation.

The toxicity caused by mercury is known to cause neurological damages, weakening of the immune system, renal damage, blood cell disorders and serious ailments like multiple sclerosis, parkinson’s etc. Even fluoride which has been introduced in toothpastes is among the top 20 materials that are most harmful materials. It is in fact the main ingredient in rat poison, and in pesticides. Similar to mercury and fluoride, there are many other components as well which are used in conventional dentistry that are harmful to the human health. Therefore a holistic or a Natural Edinburgh dentist will first remove the mercury fillings and then add such nutrition to the patient’s diet which will detoxify the effects of these elements.

In the course of a woman’s life is changing the composition of proteins in saliva in a characteristic way. This was discovered by American researchers saliva analysis of seven women aged 20 to 30 years and between 55 and 65 years.

Scientists given several hundred different proteins that are involved in the organism in such diverse tasks as the immune system, the regulation of digestive processes, or the transmission of signals. Over 260 of these substances were either solely or exclusively on the younger among women beyond the menopause. Let the normal composition for each age group known could help in future analysis of saliva in the diagnosis of diseases and developmental disorders.

The scientists took their study among women and examined the saliva samples contained proteins with highly sensitive analytical techniques. The researchers were able to pin down a total of 532 different proteins carrying out the immune response to the signal transfer almost all kinds of tasks in an organism. Striking were the extreme differences in the composition of these proteins in the two age groups: While 266 proteins occurred in both the young and the older women who were also only 266 different proteins in either one or the other group detected.

The biggest differences the researchers found in proteins involved in immune responses: Here are the older women were compared with the younger significantly increased presence of proteins, as the scientists discovered. This shift was reflected in the development of the female body reflected on the change of years, said the researchers. The analysis of saliva, however, could also be an important tool in the early diagnosis of diseases, including diseases such as lupus, say, with dry mouth and dry eyes associated Sjogren’s syndrome and many other autoimmune diseases, the scientists.

Previously doctors were mainly the blood and its components for the analysis of diseases. The results showed that in old age can be obtained from a study of saliva important information on health status and the development of the organism, explain the researchers. Saliva samples were mainly the advantage that they can be removed easily and without pain for the patient.

Green tea extracts may be able to prevent the emergence of floor of mouth cancer. In a small U.S. study, said about half of the surveyed high-risk patients for this type of cancer in the plant extract. Researchers from the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas for the first time were able to demonstrate a dose-dependent, the preventive effect of the substance. “Although not yet definitively proven that green tea is an effective preventive agent, these results encourage further studies,” said Vassiliki Papadimitrakopoulou, co-author of the study. Especially attractive is that the green tea extracts are not toxic and thus largely free of side effects, says cancer specialist.

Between August 2002 and March 2008, the researchers have recruited 41 patients for their study. They all suffer from a so-called leukoplakia of the oral cavity. This whitish coatings caused by chronic irritation of the mucous membrane, for example by excessive cigarette or alcohol consumption. From leukoplakias occur with high probability of malignant tumors.

Study participants should take three months three times a day pills. Three groups were given green tea extract – in low, medium or high doses – a fourth group swallowed a dummy placebo. At the beginning and end of the study phase, the scientists took a sample of tissue from the mouth of the participants. The higher the plant extract was dosed, the more change in the mucosa in the three months to the positive. The green tea affected the metabolism in tissues. Thus, for example, less sprouting new blood vessels, suggesting that the risk declines for cancer.

Hot coffee or iced fruit – people with sensitive teeth to bring these foods do not pleasure: you shoot on contact with cold or hot like a bolt of pain in the jaw. But anyone who thinks that getting this issue through a particularly intensive dental care under control, does exactly the wrong thing: “It is very important in such cases, brush your teeth with little pressure and not horizontal scrubbing, as well as possible, to use the toothpaste.” contain little cleaning agent, recommends Dietmar Oesterreich, a dentist in Stavenhagen and Vice President of the Federal Chamber of Dentists.

Because the sensitivity to pain always goes back to weaknesses in the teeth that are damaged by heavy cleaning further. In many cases, the culprit of the tooth neck, receding gums in the less resistant part of the tooth root surface is exposed, often as a result of inflammation of the periodontal apparatus, a so-called periodontitis.

But a weakening of the enamel on the crowns may be behind the painful sensitivity. Oesterreich explains: “This happens especially in people who consume a lot of acidic foods such as citrus fruits, apples or sour drinks.” The acids dissolve the enamel and minerals washed out, so tiny tubules are exposed, the heat or lead directly into the cold interior of the tooth sensitive. A similar effect has nocturnal gnashing their teeth: Even while the enamel is damaged and loses its insulating effect.

“Is the first step in such cases, strengthen the tooth enamel with a fluoride-or mineral-back preparation and close to the tubules.” explains an expert, Oesterreich. After that it was important to identify the exact cause of the problem and eliminate them. Toward the crunch can get help with a custom splint that prevents abrasion of the tooth enamel, and when a disaster caused by acid erosion of the diet should be changed. Will that be not, the dentist can use in case a seal or a plastic filling, which the entity will protect permanently.

Taste good

Kisses is most beautiful, even if the partner “tastes good”. Mouth smell (Fetor it ore, Halitosis) is usually harmless, can be disturbing however for the fellow men much. Serious illnesses behind the mouth smell put very rarely. To differentiate one must longer stopping mouth smell and at short notice smellable breath, for example after the benefit of bulbs or garlic.

Frequent causes

In 80 to 90 per cent of the cases the causes of the mouth smell in the oral cavity or in the nasopharyngeal cavity lie. In the oral cavity are bacteria, which decompose containing protein food such as milk. Sulfur connections can develop, which mix into the exhaled and smell badly. These substances are called also volatile sulfur Compounds (VSC, easily volatile sulfur connections).

Do not be afraid to ask your dentist if you suffer from mouth smell. This is not taboo topic, but a wide-spread problem. Even if the cause should not lie in the oral cavity, your dentist knows, where you can turn to the further investigation.

Oral cavity and nasopharyngeal cavity

    * Unsatisfactory tooth hygiene (Plaques) and/or cleaning of denture;
* bad tooth status (caries, destroyed teeth, root remainders);
* Inflammations of the mouth mucous membrane, the gums (Gingivitis) or tooth retaining apparatus (Parodontitis);
* drained mouth mucous membrane, e.g. during constant mouth respiration;
* False settlement of the tongue and the gums, e.g. by mushrooms (thrush);
* Infections in the nasopharyngeal cavity (neck, almond or nose beside cave inflammation);

Other illnesses

    * Chronic bronchitis;
* Pneumonia (pneumonia);
* Inflammation of the gastric mucosa (gastritis);
* Over or Under acidification of the stomach;
* Bulge of the esophagus (Diverticulum, very rarely and mostly just with older humans);
* Badly adjusted diabetes mellitus (acetone smell);
* Heavy liver and kidney malfunctions (ammonia smell);
* Longer chamfered (acetone smell);
* Bacterial false settlement of the small intestine;
* Digesting disturbances (e.g. fat digesting);

You can do that

A good mouth hygiene, which contains also a cleaning of the inter dental spaces and tongue surface, is most important. With tooth oaths or Inter dental brush can be cleaned the inter dental spaces thoroughly. With special tongue scrapers or – cleans one brushes the tongue surface. Here is very frequently the cause for mouth smell, because the tongue muscle is strongly fissured and the folds on the surface offers a good accumulation surface for smell-causing bacteria and food.

Besides the cause of the mouth smell must be eliminated; in addition for example a tooth redevelopment or a gum treatment belongs.

Lozenges or chewing rubbers (e.g. with peppermint) cover the smell and promote the saliva formation. Bad odor are away-rinsed, those a cause are not however not eliminated thereby at short notice. Note also that sugary sweets promote the Caries formation.

Drink sufficiently and rinse you the mouth with Sage.

Preparations with chlorophyll bind the Odor and work against the mouth smell.

After consultation with the dentist you can rinse the mouth also with Chlorhexidine. This substance kills bacteria in the mouth very reliably. However is this no continuous solution. By permanent use of certain rinsing solutions it can come to discolorations of teeth and tongue. Some patients report also of taste restrictions.
