Plasticizers, drug residues, plant protection product – Water pollutants are a bigger problem than previously thought. The European team researchers told that has studied the water quality of four major European rivers.

The focus of the study was on 500 organic substances that were discovered during the analysis of water in the catchments of the rivers Elbe, Danube, Scheldt and Llobregat. 38 percent of the pollutants were therefore present in concentrations at which effects on organisms can not be excluded.

Most frequently, the scientists found the plasticizers known as a bisphenol. These substances can impair fertility. Also, the drugs diclofenac and ibuprofen, which are mainly used in painkillers, appeared very frequently. In addition, many pesticides, some of which are no longer approved for use, were included in the water samples.

The result clearly shows that the contamination with organic chemicals is a problem throughout Europe, concludes the researcher.

Cough drops with zinc can shorten the duration of colds by about 40 percent. This is the conclusion reached by Dr. Harri Hemila of the University of Helsinki (Finland) who evaluated several studies on this topic.

Interest in zinc lozenges had awakened in the early 1980s: A three-year-old girl with cold was then suddenly become healthy, having a zinc tablet to dissolve slowly in the mouth had left, instead – to swallow – as it should. This observation provided the impetus for a series of scientific studies on the effectiveness of zinc lozenges for colds – with conflicting results. With Meta-analysis of controlled trials Hemila now seems to be to reach a final result, which he presents in the journal “Open Respiratory Medicine”.

The scientists evaluated for its investigation of thirteen double-blind studies in which the effect of zinc lozenges was tested in comparison to placebo. In five of the daily zinc dose was less than 75 milligrams. In none of these studies have a salutary effect could be demonstrated to colds.

Effective dose from 75 mg
In three studies, the subjects had sucked colds zinc acetate in a daily dose of more than 75 mg. On average, shortened by the duration of illness by 42 percent.

In the last five studies analyzed were administered instead of zinc acetate, zinc salt was different, but also in mg doses in excess of 75 per day. The common cold duration of the test subjects could be reduced by an average of 20 percent.

No long-term side effects
Also, the side effect profile of zinc lozenges has analyzed Hemila. Longer-term adverse effects were registered in any of the studies.

In some cases, however, were short-term side effects such as bad taste in the mouth or constipation. The likelihood of that could also depend on the type of zinc salt.

Future studies should focus on determining the optimal composition of zinc lozenges for colds, recommends Hemila.

MrRight is the only Australia dating service where women get to choose who can contact them – simply add guys you like to your shopping cart to unlock a communication channel. Then, it’s completely free to send and receive messages. You can also chat over the site’s built-in messaging system, in the same way as you’d chat on Facebook.

And if things don’t go your way, remove them from your cart to close the communication channel. They won’t be able to write back. This is an interesting twist on online dating that reverses traditional gender roles.

Matt Hunt, founder of MrRight comments: “MrRight works for women of all ages. Young professionals love the ‘add to cart’ feature that reminds them of online fashion stores. Single parents and seniors love the built-in privacy controls. On traditional dating sites, it only takes a few men sending rude or offensive messages to spoil every one’s fun. We’re proud to have designed the only dating site where women can date on their terms.”

The service has all the matchmaking tools you’d expect from a modern online dating service. You can also browse singles near you by age group (from teenagers to seniors), life situation (from singles to single moms), religion, ethnicity and interests.

Hirsutism is a common problem in females these days. You must not be familiar with the term; however, you must be familiar with the problem. It is the problems of excessive hair growth in females, especially on the areas where hair is either absent or minimal due to low testosterone. It not only troubles a female, but at the same time, it also causes emotional breakdown in a female.

Excessive hair growth is a symptom of PCOS – Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. This is normally due to higher levels of testosterone in women, who are suffering from PCOS. Some of the most common areas which witness excessive hair growth are
•	Chin
•	Cheeks
•	Neck
•	Chest
•	Arms
•	Legs
Hirsutism symptoms vary from woman to woman. It may also become a reason of irregular or no period, male pattern hair loss, obesity, skin tags, skin patches, excessive male hormones and even infertility.

Excess of hair growth not only embarrasses you in crowd but it breaks you emotionally as well. Waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or hair treatments can help you deal with the situation for a short period of time; however, it does not treat the root cause of the problem.

If you are suffering from such an issue, you must get your testosterone level checked.

It should be noted that too much of everything becomes poisonous. People take drugs but they only affect them if they either overdose of fail to adhere to the prescriptions given by the physician. In connection to this, melatonin is a kind of hormone that is actually essential in both animals and plants and there are products that contain the same. It is true that many people lack sleep at night simply because of stress or overworking their minds so much during the day in the sense that they are unable to sleep well. Due to such an incident, these people end up taking melatonin pills which are sometimes known as sleeping pills. People who have sleeping problems continue taking these pills but after sometime they end up tempering with the functioning of their brains and this is actually one of the melatonin side effects.

It is worth to note that these sleeping pills contain melatonin hormone which bring about sleep to people who have been lacking sleep for long. The fact is that melatonin is also a hormone in your brain that has control over your sleeping activities. The purpose of these pills is actually to fasten the accumulation of these hormones and make somebody feel sleepy. It is true that side effects of melatonin occur if you consume too much of melatonin products and this should actually be avoided.

It is true to note that irritability is also one of the side effects brought about by melatonin. This is the act of getting annoyed very easily with just minor thing surrounding you. Taking too much of melatonin products can actually make yourself get annoyed with your friends or family members and this is not good. This is because melatonin stimulates your brain and brings about that effect of hatred and this can be avoided through minimising melatonin dosage. Taking too much of melatonin can actually trigger cardiovascular problems and thus taking too much of it is bad. Taking too much of melatonin products can actually increase the activity of your immune system which can lead to severe problems.

There are also other melatonin side effects for example retina damage. This is serious simply because taking too much of melatonin can actually cause retina damage. Such cases are common in hospitals whereby hospital data indicates that about 25% of the patients with retina problems lose their site every month and the main cause is consumption of too much melatonin. Too much of it can make your eyes unclear and damages them to a point of losing your sight. We also have reproductive system side effects which are caused by too much consumption of melatonin products. Taking too much of these product can affect those hormones which help in conceiving and this is common to females. It also lowers the sex drive in men whereby they are not able to perform well in the sexual intercourse. This means that taking too much of melatonin can result to a sequence of side effects which are actually serious.

It has already been known that the circadian clock influences a number of human physiological processes, including those affecting the cardiovascular system. It was not clear yet what effect this has on a heart attack.

For study, the team determined to Aida Suárez-Barrientos from the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid give certain enzymes of myocardial infarction patients, revealing the size of the damage.

Between six clock in the morning and midday, the tissue damage by 21 percent larger than at other times of the day, the researchers found. Also showed that most heart attacks occurred in the morning: it took 269 patients in the critical period between six clock in the morning and noon, 240 patients in the afternoon, 161 early evening and midnight clock between six and 141 between midnight and six clock.

To remove radioactive iodide from drinking water, you need apparently only wood and the shells of crustaceans: U.S. researchers have made hemicellulose – a byproduct of the timber industry – as well as the chitosan in crushed crustacean shells, a new material in the form of a solid foam made of contaminated water can filter. “The material we have developed, iodide binds in the water and include it so that it can then be removed well – with no risk to humans or the environment,” said Dr. Joel Pawlak, Department of Forest Biomaterials at North Carolina University. In addition, the foam removed heavy metals and salt from sea water, reports the University.

As the current nuclear accident in Japan shows that water pollution with radioactive iodine, a major problem is after a nuclear accident. “Because it is chemically identical to non-radioactive iodide, the body can not distinguish between the two,” said Pawlak. The radioactive iodine is enriched as its non-bright counterpart in the thyroid gland and ultimately caused cancer.

Generating new drinking water
The invention of U.S. scientists can do much more than just filter out radioactive iodide. The hemicellulose-chitosan foam also removes heavy metals such as arsenic from the water and sea water can by removing the salt turn into drinkable fresh water. “This material could be the same policies for the protection of drinking water reserves of the planet completely change,” said Pawlak.

The application of the new filter is in fact very simple. The foam, mounted on wood fibers can be dipped into the contaminated water like a sponge. For smaller quantities of water it can be used in a similar way as a teabag. In larger scales, one could run the water through the foam filter. Especially in disaster areas where power supply has failed or is limited, the new material would be of great benefit, says study leader: “This foam can be easily brought and used to clean the water – without that you need for electricity.”

More than 600 million people in Europe will have a study, expected health effects of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster 25 years ago. Most of the recovery workers are suffering the consequences: of the 830,000 liquidators so-called 90 percent affected because of the high radiation exposure. According to a study published on Friday the nuclear critical medical organization IPPNW and the Institute of Radiation Protection, based on scientific studies.

According to the Ministry of the Chernobyl Ukraine in 1996 only 18 percent of the evacuated people were healthy. The proportion of healthy children who were not even affected by the Chernobyl fallout, but whose parents were exposed to elevated radioactivity decreased in Ukraine to 1996 by 81 percent (1987) to 30th Researchers into the study, believes that there will be across Europe by the Chernobyl nearly 240,000 additional cancer cases to 2056.

The Scientific Committee of the United Nations on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR) expects worldwide 30,000-207,500 children with genetic damage as a result of the nuclear accident. The number of stillbirths and malformations increased significantly. After 1986 were born in Europe about 800,000 children less than expected had actually been. The study demonstrates that occur most health consequences of a radioactive accident only after many years, often in the next few generations, it said.

On 26 April 1986 became the Unit 4 reactor of the nuclear power plant in the Ukraine out of control. Experts believe the cause is a combination of operating and design errors during a safety test. There were explosions, causing the upper part of the reactor building was destroyed. The released radioactive material irradiated up to 150,000 square kilometers in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia.

In order to fulfill many of your physical aesthetic goals, it is recommended to look for a plastic surgery Toronto doctor who is well versed and experienced in the profession. Some claim that individuals who are looking to get surgeries related to breast enlargement or augmentation done are naive and lack self-confidence. However this is far from the truth, simply because there are many other physical reasons why this is required at times.
A cosmetic surgery Toronto doctor will be able to assist you in the case where your body and chest may be out of proportion. This could be due to the fact that your body may be large as compared to your chest and at times it could also be due to the fact that one breast size or shape is different than the other. In order to resize and reshape your breasts, a Toronto plastic surgeon will be able to perform this surgery and be able to provide you with the best results.

However, be careful before you are about to go for the surgery and are still in the research phase. This surgery is a very personal matter and it needs to be done by the right surgeon; a surgeon that is able to make you feel extremely comfortable and has experience dealing with patients from a variety of different backgrounds. Make sure to scout out various testimonials or before & after pictures so that you are completely assured that this is the right surgeon for you.

Preliminary studies, including with twins, had already found evidence for disc problems that might be genetically predisposed, lead investigator says Alpesh A. Patel of the University of Utah. But so far the numbers were too small to make a final statement can.

For their study, the team used the data on the large “Utah Population Database”, which includes more than two million people. Here, the researchers focused on a group of 1264 people who had either suffered from a degenerative disc or a slipped disc.

The analysis of kinship relationships showed that the risk of developing an appropriate problem increased when affected close Transformed. Although it is conceivable that common risk factors in a family increased the likelihood of back problems. “But even with second-and third-degree affected relatives increases the risk of a genetic relationship is likely, ” suggested the researchers.
